Hooks Woods is a 3-acre wooded area in High Island attractive for migratory birds. In the spring, warblers, tanagers, orioles, and other neotropical migrants can be found throughout the large oak trees and the water features. Hooks Woods is owned by the Texas Ornithological Society and managed by Houston Audubon, and through that partnership, the Houston Audubon daily pass ($8) or seasonal pass (patch for $30) provides entry to Hooks as well as all the Houston Audubon sanctuaries on High Island. Make a day of it!
