Surfside Jetty Park is a 15-acre day use beach park. Its features include a paved parking area with access to the pedestrian beach, harbor channel and jetty, a playground, and restroom facilities. Natural attractions are fishing, bird watching, wildlife viewing, beachcombing, and shelling.
The Surfside Jetty is an easy place to go saltwater fishing. The jetty is more than half a mile long with a flat surface walkway about five feet above the water. It is the Freeport Harbor’s east jetty and extends approximately 6/10 of a mile into the Gulf of Mexico. Fishing off this long jetty allows anglers without a boat the chance to tie into fish like redfish, sheepshead, shark, spotted sea trout.
