Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary is a Globally Important Bird Area and an International site in the Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network. It is comprised of 1205 acres of productive mudflats, coastal prairie, beach, and saltmarshes. Walk along the beach and enjoy watching the birds and other wildlife that are protected here. Always observe wildlife from a safe and comfortable distance. Bolivar Flats is part of the sanctuary network owned and managed by Houston Audubon. Access is available year round, at no cost to visitors.
