Product Description

Big Boggy National Wildlife Refuge is for the birds!

Only open to waterfowl hunting, the Big Boggy National Wildlife Refuge serves as a salt marsh sanctuary. The refuge’s Dressing Point Island is one of the most prominent bird rookeries on the Texas Coast. Roseate spoonbills, white Ibis, snowy and reddish egrets vie for nesting space along side the brown pelicans.

Like Brazoria and San Bernard National Wildlife Refuges, Big Boggy Refuge conserves key coastal wetlands for neotropical migratory birds and shorebirds in spring and fall, as well as for wintering waterfowl and year-round wildlife.

It was established in 1983 and includes 4,526 acres of salt marsh and uplands.
