Slover – Rogers Cottage
A restored Victorian cottage featuring original furniture pieces, the Slover – Rogers Cottage is revered as a “must see.” The cottage was crafted over an eight-year period by a Civil War veteran to show his skills in Victorian construction, with gingerbread, two turrets, massive pocket doors, and a bow knot fence. Guides conduct tours of the house and give history on the antique furnishings in the house. It is a place of remembrance for old, as well as a place of discovery for the young.

Take an Adventure Through Our Wildlife Zoo
Visit Bayou Wildlife Zoo in Alvin, Texas, to explore our wildlife zoo with an experienced guide from the comfort of a tram. We take you through 80 acres where our knowledgeable guides will tell you about animals from all around the world. Bayou Wildlife Zoo offers three areas of attractions: 80-acre tram ride, Addie Lou’s Barnyard and our big red barn.

Tram Rides
Our guided tour on a safari tram allows you to see everything our zoo has to offer without trekking through the vast premises on foot. Each ride lasts approximately 30 to 40 minutes, and you will see many types of deer, antelopes, buffalos, camels, zebras, and other exotic animals. During the tram ride, you feed the animals for an up-close encounter!

Addie Lou’s Barnyard
Wander through Addie Lou’s Barnyard to see typical farm animals to exotic and rare animals. In the barnyard, you will encounter a Wallaby, Pygmy Goats, Lemurs, and much more! Please note at this time, animals cannot be touched or petted in order to keep them safe.

The Big Red Barn
Stop by our big main bar to meet giraffes and Annie, our pet Water Buffalo. While in the barn, stops by the Bayou General Store for snacks and souvenirs. The store offers cold drinks, ice cream, nachos, candy and more! You will also find t-shirts, stuffed animals and toys to remember your trip to the zoo. The Bayou General Store is only open on weekends.

Our Zoo
Come and spend the day with us to get to know all the different parts of our zoo. While walking between the different areas are alligators, kangaroos, and more! You are invited to bring your own lunch and eat in our covered picnic area. We also have an on-site snack bar. You will find a variety of lawn games in our picnic area for your enjoyment.

Alvin Music festival and Cook – Off

For almost 10 years people from all over Brazoria County and surrounding areas have gathered to experience a weekend of family fun with good music and an IBCA sanctioned cook-off.

The proceeds from this event go to funding scholarships for area students, both high school and college, as well as supporting organizations that provide food, shelter and other services to the Alvin Area.
